Odoo hosting that is fast, backed up and upgrade-ready

Where Odoo runs decides what you can customise, how upgrades work and who fixes it at 2 a.m. There are three main options: Odoo Online, Odoo.sh and self-hosting on your own cloud server. Each one is the right answer for some businesses.

Overview

The short version

We help you choose, set it up properly and, if you want, run it for you with monitoring, backups and security updates.

ERP Builders is an independent Odoo services company and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Odoo S.A. “Odoo” is a trademark of Odoo S.A.

01

The three Odoo hosting options

The choice mainly depends on edition, customisation and who will maintain it.

Odoo Online

Odoo's SaaS. Simplest to run, upgrades managed by Odoo, but no custom Python modules.

Odoo.sh

Odoo's platform for Enterprise with custom modules, Git-based deployment and staging branches.

Self-hosted

Your own server on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or a VPS. Full control, works for Community and Enterprise.

02

What a well-run Odoo server includes

For self-hosted Odoo we set up a reverse proxy with HTTPS, multiple workers sized to your users, PostgreSQL tuning, automated off-site backups, monitoring and a staging copy for testing changes and upgrades.

We document the setup and hand it over, or keep running it under a support agreement.

Backups

Daily database and filestore backups stored off-site, with tested restores.

Security

HTTPS, firewall rules, restricted database manager and regular OS patches.

Performance

Worker and memory settings, PostgreSQL tuning and slow-query monitoring.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can Odoo Community run on Odoo.sh?

No. Odoo.sh is for Enterprise. Community is self-hosted on your own server.

How big a server does Odoo need?

A small company with up to about 20 users often runs well on 2 to 4 vCPUs and 4 to 8 GB of RAM. Heavy integrations, POS and large catalogues need more. We size it from your actual usage.

Can we move from Odoo Online to our own server later?

Yes. You can download a database backup and restore it on Odoo.sh or a self-hosted Enterprise server.
