01Data
| Entity | Direction | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Orders | App → ERP | Orders received by webhook and imported with lines, discounts, shipping and taxes. |
| Customers | App → ERP | Customers and customer groups mapped to ERP partners and pricelists. |
| Products & variants | ERP → App | SKUs, prices and stock-tracked variants maintained from the ERP. |
| Inventory | ERP → App | Available stock pushed by location, with optional safety buffers. |
| Shipments | ERP → App | Shipments and tracking posted back to the order. |
| Refunds | App → ERP | Refunds create credit notes and returns in the ERP. |
02Use cases
Customer groups and price lists driven from the ERP.
One stock figure for BigCommerce, marketplaces and wholesale.
Orders flow to picking without re-keying.
03 — Architecture
Webhooks notify the integration of new and updated orders; payloads are verified, queued and processed asynchronously. Outbound updates use the REST API in batches within rate limits, and a scheduled reconciliation catches missed events.
04Reliability
A store API account with scoped OAuth access tokens, stored in a secrets manager.
Each order is processed with its BigCommerce ID as an idempotency key; failures go to an exception queue with the reason.
Exponential backoff for transient errors, then a dead-letter queue and alert.
05 — Data mapping
| BigCommerce | ERP |
|---|---|
| order.id | Sales order reference |
| products.sku | Product internal reference |
| customer_group_id | Pricelist |
06 — Automation
07 — Security
TLS, scoped tokens, webhook verification and no card data in the ERP.
